Peavey Koa Unity Bass

I bought this wonderful Peavey Unity bass around 1990, and I have to say that it is prolly the best playing and sounding bass that I've ever owned. It is made from the beautiful Koa wood with "neck through the body" construction. On each side of the neck through the body is a 1/8" slice of burgundy Paduke wood. The pickups are EMG active pickups that KICK BUTT! They allow you to get that incredible tone without having to crank your amp. But when you DO crank it up, it'll push the hairs back into the follicles on your legs and put "that smile" on your lady's face ... Er, sorry, I didn't mean to get carried away ... :>}

The hardware is brass plated, but I don't remember the brand. All of the brass hardware - the tuning keys, knobs and bridge have all become pitted due to my ignorance when I stored it for a couple of years without first polishing the hardware. I've included close up pics of them so you can see it for yourself. The pickups are powered by a 9 volt battery (which I DID remove before storing!) accessed through a panel on the back.)

The pictures don't really do it justice. If you want to see a video of it being played live, click on the Techno Babble link below, scroll down and watch the "I'm Cryin'" video.

Also, click on each picture below to see a much larger version. The pictures will open in a new window (or tab, whichever you use)
